The vision for Feathers and Field Goals, a dedicated platform for University of Delaware athletics coverage, was born from a deep-rooted passion for the Fightin’ Blue Hens. Bryce, who is also a lifelong Notre Dame football fan, grew up following the Fightin Irish recruiting trackers each offseason to know who the new players were before they stepped on the field in the fall. When he chose to become a Blue Hen in Spring 2019, he quickly immersed himself in the team’s roster changes, getting to follow Nasir Adderley’s draft journey.
A year later, the rest of Bryce’s freshman year became virtual due to COVID-19. During National Signing Day, he realized that no dedicated recruiting database existed for Delaware. Driven by this, Bryce created UD Recruiting (@UDRecruiting) on Twitter, meticulously tracking offers, visits, commitments, and transfers for the Hens. The page gained significant traction throughout the years. When Delaware joined Conference USA in Fall 2023, Sidelines Sports Network recognized its value, bringing UD Recruiting under their wing.
This partnership allowed for expanded recruiting coverage, moving beyond tweets to detailed articles and securing media credentials to cover the athletic programs firsthand. Through this local media immersion, Bryce connected with Dan, then Managing Sports Editor of the UD Review and a member of WVUD Sports. Together, they launched “Feathers and Field Goals”, a podcast offering unique insights and deeper stories of the athletes and staff shaping the athletic department.
Their team further solidified with the addition of Brody, an alumnus passionate not only about the Blue Hens, but also about content creation and post-production. Now, as proud Delaware alumni, Bryce, Dan, and Brody have transformed Feathers and Field Goals into its own independent media platform. This site is now the ultimate destination for our podcasts, in-depth articles, comprehensive recruiting databases, and much more, connecting fans to the heartbeat of Delaware Athletics.
